Description

Australia's Ford Falcon debuted in 1960 as little more than as an American Falcon import, but in the mid-late 1960s the Falcon saw a change from being a simple copy of its American cousin to becoming more purely designed for the Australian public. Even more so, the mild-mannered Falcon of its first generations, began its regional transformation into a more ostensibly muscle car status as the Australian engineers began tickling the cheap family sedan with more powerful engines than its American counterpart would ever get to see.

The ultimate transformation of the Falcon then came in the wake of the demise of the American Falcon when in 1972 Ford Australia introduced their fully re-designed XA Falcon, a full-blown muscle car with its Coke bottle styling and clear youthful stance (particularly in its hardtop coupe style) that took several inspirations from the contemporary American Ford Torino. The XA, however, didn't last until 1973 when it was replaced by the even more aggressively styled XB version, retaining the basic shape of the XA, but refining several aspects of the car. This version became particularly popular after one such GT hardtop was customised for the first two Mad Max movies as Max's car.

The successful XB was then eventually replaced by the XC Falcon in 1976, which again featured several changes in details and mechanics, with the most significant XC variant being 1978's Cobra with its white and blue colour scheme, along with other details that made them stand out from the regular XCs. The Falcon in this configuration lasted until 1979 when it was replaced by the XD Falcon, basically just an Australian built European Ford Granada, thus bringing an end to the "muscle" Falcons.

The drawing depicts a 1974 XB Falcon GT hardtop coupe with its two-tone paint, 351 Cleveland V8, colour-trimmed bumpers, and twin driving lights.

Nice its almost exactly like the 1973 falcons used in Mad Max; AKA the greatest post-apocalypse movie series ever created.
