Let Them Eat Cake! by Berlioz-II Let Them Eat Cake! by Berlioz-II
Since Princess Celestia is the best and most harmonious Equestrian ruler, she is on the pulse of what the common pony wants. And that, of course, is cake! What diplomatic conference; what mingle with the ordinary street dweller; what moment of personal indulgence or melancholy, is not made better by cake? None, that's what, proving the truth in the saying our beloved and eternal monarch lives and dies on... hopefully not as literally as her more infamous colleague Marie-Antoinette, who may or may not have said something similarly cake related to a much more tough crowd.

Anyway, that should never be a problem here since, let us not forget, Princess Celestia: she's just like the rest of us. She understands you and her never-ending love will smother you even if you don't because she simply knows what's best for you. So shut up and stuff your face with delightful delectables until you won't even remember what you were so upset about before. Or as our magnificent Princess Celestia herself says: "More cake for a happier Equestria!"

*This message is paid for by the Equestrian Treasury Department, since Celestia owns all the bits.*

Considering that cakes and confections seem to make up about half of the diet of your typical pony, this would probably be a less controversial statement in Equestria.

:iconsadlunaplz::iconsays3plz:Nopony ever want the moon pies...

The lowest common denominator is just as true in Equestria as it is here, really.

And yet, diabetes is not a problem in Equestria :D

It's the magic. It filters out the harmful side effects. ;)

Fun fact: there's actually no solid evidence that Marie-Antoinette ever said that line.

I don't doubt Celestia's said it, though. :P

Indeed. It's an old mis-attribution that wasn't made popular in regards Marie-Antoinette until the mid-19th century. In fact, there weren't even any major famines during the French Revolution outside of one larger bread shortage just before it began - and which lasted for a very short time - for food to have been a big reason for the ire of the public rather than the exuberant spending habits of the royalty that drove France's finances to the ground.

But Celestia, I agree, would definitely say that - and she'd mean it too. :D

I...was under the impression that it WAS that one bread shortage that was the "straw that broke the camel's back" and all-but kicked off what eventually became the French Revolution...but I suppose I could be remembering wrong. It HAS been perhaps a year or more since I did any studying of the French Revolution...

Oh well, that was France's problem. This is Equestria that we're talking about, and that's a whole other ball of wax. :P

So cute!

But Celestia, you really should slow down on the cakes, you don't want ponies and diplomats alike to look upon you as out of your form!
